Why Your Help Matters

So many needs . . .

One could easily focus on just the needs, there are so many!

Children with disabilities, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, aging, lack of opportunities for physical activity, people sitting in front of the computer all day, . . . the list goes on.

This is 6-year-old Xandra M. who is desperately waiting for the therapy pool opening. At age 1 ½ a very high fever left her totally paralyzed. She has had continued Physical Therapy and other therapies.

For the past years, she has been using our services, starting to re-learn how to walk. Her progress would be much more advanced if we had the warm water therapy pool with the therapy jets functioning already.  (pictures and words are used with permission).

There are many factors which make it difficult for the elderly to perform floor-based exercise. Among them are pain, muscle weakness and difficulty with balance. Falls are the leading cause of injuries among the elderly, and warm water therapy is a safe, effective form of treatment for strengthening and mobility which results in fewer falls, less fear and more comfort.

Moderately disabled elderly persons can keep physically active with warm water therapy. The warm water of the pool increases circulation to affected joints, relax muscles, and temporarily decrease pain.

Cynthia and Rod's lives are mostly spent in their wheelchairs. They are longing to get into the warm water pool to move their stiff limps

and regain their strength, mobility and function.

Susan L. is another one who is desperately waiting for the pool

to open, and there are so many

who need help. . . .
